Paragliding is a form of Free Flight that gives the pilot a thrilling flying experience. Its ingenious design allows all equipment to fit into a backpack that easily fits in a car trunk.

Phase 3 – Mountain flights Duration: 3 to 4 days – 5 to 10 flights Price: €400 |
Theoretical lessons: Advanced flight techniques. Thermals and thermal utilization. Advanced meteorology. |
Practical lessons: Mountain flights. Altitude gain techniques. Cross-country flights. Management of emergency situations. |

Phase 4 – Thermal and cross-country flights Duration: 3 to 4 days – 5 to 10 flights Price: €400 |
Theoretical lessons: Cross-country flight planning. Air navigation. Aeronautical regulation. |
Practical lessons: Thermal flights. Cross-country techniques. Long distance flights. Competition preparation. |
The course consists of 3 phases. Throughout the course, flights are accompanied via radio. At the end of phase 3, the student will need to take a theoretical exam conducted by the Portuguese Free Flight Federation.
The course price includes:
- All practical and theoretical lessons taught by instructors accredited by FPVL or FPA
- All necessary equipment for use by the student during the course
- Manual
The course price does not include:
- Travel to the training locations
- Travel to Lisbon for the theoretical exam
The course fee does not include the student license and annual personal accident and civil liability insurance (35 € + 90 €).
Payment for the course is made in 3 or 4 installments. Upon registration, the first phase is paid along with the insurance and license. The remaining phases are paid as the student progresses through the course and meets various objectives.
Registrations must be made at least one week in advance of the course start date. The courses run year-round on weekends.
The duration of the courses may vary depending on weather conditions. The minimum and maximum age limits for course admission are 16 and 65, respectively. Admission of students outside of this age range is conditional.
Flyalgarve.pt is the Algarve branch of Espiral – Flight School, which focuses on quality teaching and the experience of qualified instructors. We are one of the few schools in the country qualified by the Portuguese Free Flight Federation to teach courses up to level 2 (the highest level in Portugal).
